Love is a fire burning out of sight – 25 love sonnets

Published by Bertrand Editora, one of Portugal’s most prestigious publishers and one of the oldest European publishing houses, with a history spanning nearly three hundred years, this is an abbreviated selection of some of Luís de Camões’ most notable sonnets. But not just any sonnets: these are some of the greatest love sonnets written by the author considered to be the greatest Portuguese-language poet of all time.

All of the sonnets and texts have been translated from Portuguese into English by Calvin Olsen, an internationally published poet and award-winning literary translator who currently teaches at Ohio State University.
